Employee Relations

  • Responsible for the ER Caseload – Managing it efficiently with key actions. Liaising with People Managers as necessary and providing Head of HR with Monthly updates.
  • Absence Management – Responsible for managing absence in line with business targets. Liaising with OH on every long-term Absence (Defined as any absence over 2 calendar weeks).
  • Responsible for leading all Disciplinary & Grievance Investigations and Hearings. Ensuring Performance Improvement Plans are in place.
  • Ensure company policies are up to date and Providing People Managers with HR Law advice as required.
  • Ensure exit interviews are carried out with all resignations, producing a quarterly report detailing evidence and recommended actions to improve retention.
  • Managing WTD on site ensuring business complies with ETI Base Code.
  • Carry out Employee Surveys on an annual basis, putting in action plans by function to ensure continuous improvement mentality advising BLT accordingly and ensure it links to HR/Business Strategy.
  • Lead all HR related meetings not limited to Probationary period meetings, Flexible Working Requests, Maternity Meetings etc
  • Responsible for the Staff Welfare Budget
  • Attend various meetings as required, including Site Performance Review meetings
  • Drive Employee Engagement of the APPlewood App ensuring the HR Team fulfil its requirements as laid out in the Communications Strategy.

Audit, Compliance and Policy

  • Ensuring all payroll reports and HMRC routines are completed on time and within targeted accuracy levels.
  • Ensuring the business is audit compliant for all HR and Ethical audits including but not limited to SMETA 4 Pillar, BRC, SEDEX, Asda Ethical Audit, M & S Standards etc.

Health and Safety

  • H & S – Follow up accidents to ensure employee wellbeing, signposting as required to additional support services.
  • H & S – Ensure all staff receive appropriate periodic hearing tests (Audiometric) and that all follow ups are carried out and recorded.

HR Strategy

  • Understand the Business Objectives and play an active role in shaping the HR Strategy and KPI’s to facilitate the business in delivering its objectives effectively.
  • Culture – Lead the MHFA strategy
  • Culture – Contribute to the Leadership Summit Programme, and play an active positive role in engaging others

Comp and Bens

  • Responsible for 4 weekly and salary payroll processing
  • Benefits administration- Simplyhealth & Lifetime Financial Advice

People Resourcing

  • Recruitment Agency Liaison – Permanent Recruitment
  • Recruitment Advertising of roles across Facebook, LinkedIn, indeed, Company Website, APPlewood and Canteen noticeboards
  • Recruitment Administration– Arranging interviews, Collating test results, interview notes,
  • Offer Pack Administration
  • Right to work verification for all new starters

Adhoc Duties

  • HR System – Super User for HR system ensuring detailed Bible is in place.
  • Cover responsibilities for other HR team positions as required

Working Hours: 8:30am-4:30pm

Contract Length: 1 Years FTC

Salary: £25,420 – £42,000 depending on previous experience

Night Hygiene Operative

Hourly rate including 25% of Night Shift Premium is £15.06 per hour.

Summary and purpose of Role:

  • To participate in the high standard of hygiene as is required for a food producing factory and carry out the hygiene tasks assigned to you
  • To develop competence in all areas of basic skills described below

Entry Level hygiene operatives will effectively carry out a cleaning process for the following areas and pieces of equipment:

  • Wash stations and changing rooms
  • Offices
  • W/Cs
  • Canteen
  • All low risk and High care areas and equipment across both sites
  • Carrying out Laundry procedures
  • Removing waste to the compactors and operating the compactors
  • Supporting production lines washout
  • Replenishing overalls, toilets paper, soap, sanitiser, etc.

  • Prepared to develop skills through the company’s training programme as required

  • Ensure quality standards are achieved at all times and ensure appropriate action is taken when necessary

Training/Skills development:

Upon employment, Entry Level operatives should successfully complete training in the following areas:

Quality Assurance skills

  • Foreign Body training
  • HACCP
  • Food Safety for manufacturing level 2
  • Holchem essential cic system
  • Allergen training

Health & Safety Skills

  • Manual handling training
  • COSHH training
  • Emergency procedures training

Background & profile:

  • Present yourself and a professional and courteous manner at all times
  • Achieve required pass mark in English language aptitude test
  • Willing to work overtime including weekends when required
  • Ensure you meet the standards of personal hygiene required by the business at all times

Working Pattern:

  • 10pm-6am Monday-Friday

Requirements:
